NCTU's Vision One: The Next Generation Robot

As you all knows, there are lots kinds of robots that have been created by different companies in the world. There are household robots(robot that does cleaning), security robots and many others. However now, a team of researcher at Hsinchu-based National Chiao Tung University(NCTU) has developed a unique robot that equipped with "digital vision system" that gives the robot the ability to recognize his own master not just by the face but by the gesture.

The cool part of this robot is that it can judge the person's health from it's facial expression, and proceed to fetch medicine, telephone or another person in the home to provide aid. This robot was clearly designed for the elderly, which have difficulty in caring themselves. NCTU added that this robot can also distinguish between intruders and family members with just a scan on their system, and it can chase them away while taking the pictures of them for further prosecution. WOW, the new terminator. NCTU said that this robot will be available on the market soon.

Roboboa Are For Real

According to some sources, Roboboa that was display at CES was real. Along with other types of robots Roboquad, Robopanda, Flytech DragonFly all this robots are for real. Roboboa is a robot snake that loves to party and even will company you all night long as your dance partner.

This robot is for real a dancing robot snake with cool lights and moves it's body according to the rhythm of music. Roboboa also acts as a futuristic alarm clock, a funky disco speaker for iPod, a room sentry that can track motion and also a remote control and you can program up to 40 individual movement into it. So this robot will go all night along with the cool DJ music and dance with you. What a cool Dance Robot Gadget we got now.

ROMI, The House Robot

ROMI, the house robot which was developed by ETRI in Korea will be presented at CES 2007. This robot seems to be able to do cleaning job, it has a built in voice active command system and it can transmit video via Wireless/CDMA connection. This is sure a big step to achieve a future with Robot world. Imagine, when you are busy at work all day and no one to clean your house. ROMI will do it for you, just with a voice command she will clean all your rooms. Monitor your house, if something happens; she will send you a video to keep track of your house.

I am still wondering, when will robots like IROBOT will be produced? Probably around 50 years later or 100 years later. This is probably the best cool robot gadgets out there. Any idea, split it out here!
